Certified in 2000 following a motorcycle accident that paid for my dive gear and scuba classes. From 2000-2005, I logged 585 dives progressing through the recreational path into technical diving and recreational instruction. By 2006, having lost my main dive buddy and entering into a serious relationship, I cut back significantly. From 2006-2019, I logged only 28 dives at my parents’ home on Higgins Lake and tropical vacations. I resumed frequent diving in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic filling up hiking trails, my other hobby. A trip to the Yucatán in December 2020 rekindled an interest in cave diving. My goals for 2021 are to complete a cave refresher course in Florida, return to the Yucatán caves, dive two Great Lakes technical wrecks, and find a couple regular dive buddies so I'm not soloing as much. I'm a weird American who prefers to dive metric.
